Tagline: A crowded party, a restless night, and a stranger’s quiet gaze, the veil between ordinary and unknown begins to shift.

Overview

The Infection is a character driven sci fi horror about a mother who will cross a sealed neighborhood to reach her daughter after green light splits the sky and reality changes. Inside the barrier, nights glow, rules bend, and kindness can be the difference between turning and surviving. This is Angela’s story of courage, fear, and the cost of protecting the people you love.

  • Genre: Sci Fi Horror, Survival Thriller, Mystery
  • Status: Part One complete draft, revisions in progress
  • Length: Novel, multi part arc
  • Content notes: Survival peril, creature attacks, state violence, grief

Setting

The story unfolds inside the Barrier, a shimmering dome that seals off suburban streets from the outside world. Within it, the sky glows an unnatural green, time feels off, and devices sometimes behave like they are listening. Houses become fortresses, supermarkets become waypoints, and familiar places turn strange. Outside the barrier there is only black emptiness, or so it seems from within.

Tone & Style

Intimate, tense, and cinematic. The voice stays close to Angela, focusing on small human details in the middle of chaos: a hand on a doorknob that will not turn, the weight of a phone with no signal, the way a quiet girl watches the sky. Dialogue is natural and clipped when fear rises. Action is clear and grounded. The story favors atmosphere over gore and lets dread build in layers.

Themes (no spoilers)

  • Motherhood and resolve: how love narrows choices and sharpens courage.
  • Kindness under pressure: small mercies that echo through disaster.
  • Trust and authority: rescue can look like control, safety can have a price.
  • Identity under change: what remains when rules, bodies, and neighbors do not stay the same.
  • Hope as strategy: holding on is not passive, it is a plan.

Status

Part One outlines and chapters are complete through Angela’s capture and the outside push for a cure. Current work focuses on polish, continuity, and preparing the series page for weekly releases. Cover and concept art drafts are ready. Chapter links will appear here as they go live.

Author’s Note

This story began with a single image: a house full of music, a sudden hush, and green light on glass. From there it became a journey about a mother and a city that refuses to stay ordinary. We wrote it to feel human first, terrifying second. Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for believing that kindness still matters when the lights go out.
